Chuck Ragan is releasing “Echo the the Halls,” the Hot Water Music co-frontperson’s first new solo single since 2016, tomorrow (11/17), but it’s getting an early premiere right here. It’s a breezy, driving heartland rock song led by Chuck’s distinct grit, and it’s a great one.

“Many of the songs that I discover and gravitate to stem from love and reflection,” Chuck says. “That said, love and reflection isn’t always pleasant and often, at times, painful. Songwriting to me has always been about looking deeper into myself to overcome my faults and dark sides. Whether I find them myself or learn of them from loved ones. ‘Echo the Halls’ is a simple love story of two unhinged souls searching for a light at the end of a tunnel.”

The song was produced by Chuck and Todd Beene, and Todd also plays guitar and pedal steel on it. It also features Spencer Duncan on bass, and Chuck’s Hot Water Music bandmate George Rebelo on drums. Pre-save it here and give it an early listen below.

Chuck has a Europe tour coming up in December (dates here), and Hot Water Music have a 30th anniversary Europe/UK tour planned for 2023 (dates here).
