BIO:
When Chris Corner was just a mere 15 years old in the 90s, he started the London-based group Sneaker Pimps. Even though he wrote all the songs on their ground-breaking debut album Becoming X, he opted to release the album with a female vocalist, Kelli Dayton. The resulting landslide of media attention generated a commercial success – the album sold over 1.5 million in the US alone.
Deciding it was time to return to the origins of Sneaker Pimps, Chris took over vocals and released Splinter, the critically-hailed follow-up. Presenting the unique creative direction which has been a trademark of Chris Corner and Sneaker Pimps, the band went on to develop the Home-Taping sessions at London’s Contemporary Art Museum, followed by launch of their own label Splinter Recordings who is responsible for discovering acts such as The Servant and Robots In Disguise. While the new Sneaker Pimp album is gestating, Chris has been focusing his energy and reaching his audience through his solo project, IAMX.
